Manitoba Automotive Aftermarket, along with Child & Family Services Western Manitoba (CFSWM), hosted its 17th Annual Golf tournament in June, raising more than $7,000.

The Sun Fund for Kids Westman is administered by CFSWM with 100% of the monies raised used to send children to various area camps. The Sun Fund for Kids Westman was spearheaded by Brian Marshall with the Brandon Sun and CFS Western Manitoba in 1988.

The tournament was held at Shilo Golf Course in Shilo, Manitoba, and attended by 41 golfers and supported by 45 Sun Fund Hole Sponsors, many of them whom have been supporters since the inaugural tournament in 2005.

A great day of golf was had by all, who once again enjoyed the challenging course under sunny skies. At the post-tournament dinner Manitoba Automotive Aftermarket members presented a cheque for $6800 to CFS Western Manitoba CFO Mark Gillis.  Mark was also the winner of the 50/50 draw, and he generously donated his winnings back to Sun Fund for Kids, bringing the 2023 tournament donation to $7200 and the 17-year total over $122,000.

Thanks to tournament organizers Pete Lepage, Auto Parts Central Brandon, Art Asham, (CFSWM retired), Mark Gillis, CFSWM and Brent Karr, Bestbuy Distributors Ltd.

The 18th Sun Fund for Kids Golf Tournament will be held on June 6, 2024.
