GARY MCMILLAN

Wakefield Canada Regional Sales Manager, Western Canada

After 25 years of success at Wakefield Canada, Gary McMillan is retiring from his position as Regional Sales Manager for Western Canada.

Gary joined Castrol Canada in 1996, steadily growing the business to become the number-one region in Canada, all the while forming a close-knit team of loyal Sales Professionals.

Shannon Spano, VP of Sales at Wakefield Canada, confirms, “Gary is a true class act and a gentlemen, a coach, a mentor, a collaborator, a partner, a friend – he provides continuous support and uplifting encouragement, and fosters strong and deep relationships with his team, throughout Wakefield and with our customers.”

Known for his dry wit and always the comedian in the room, Gary is also known for his steady, authentic and trusted leadership and his relentless pursuit of results. Gary proudly wore the Castrol brand and represented the Wakefield values of building Wakefield Business Solutions together with customers, many of whom he now considers friends. Gary will be missed by all that have worked with him, and everyone at Wakefield genuinely wishes him the very best as he moves on to his next phase in life.

Due to the realities of the current restricted travel environment, Gary is unfortunately unable to say goodbye to his many industry friends in person – something he would have done if it was at all possible. In the absence of Gary’s firm handshake, this is to let those that have worked with him know about his well-earned retirement.

For many Saskatchewan-based automotive businesses, Gary’s successor will be a familiar face. Paul Randall, a sales veteran for Wakefield, will be working closely with Gary over the coming weeks to transition to the role of Wakefield Canada Regional Sales Manager, Western Canada, and is eagerly looking forward to meeting new friends and industry colleagues.

Gary and I were school friends. We’ve known each other for many years, he’s always been the comedian, a class act for sure. We used to garage sale with his father, giving advice how to get the best price. Gary is a great guy, i wish you all the best in you’re retirement, I know you and Penny will travel the world, once we are allowed to….. and new adventures will await you! Xo Joyce
