E.R.I. Group announces winners of Richard Miller Education Award scholarship

The E.R.I. Group is pleased to announce this year’s winners of the Richard Miller Education Award.

The award to provide financial assistance and encouragement to individuals who wish to further their education or training has been presented to applicants from E.R.I. member companies for over 20 years.  

Brandt Johner of Grimshaw, Alberta is entering his third year of studies of a five-year program at the University of Alberta in the Faculty of Engineering. Brandt is hoping to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering Software. Brandt has always been fascinated with computers and technology and hopes to leave his mark in the world by making life better for all with the advancements of technology.

Tristan Millar of Miami, Manitoba is entering his first year of studies in the Automotive Service Technician program at Red River College Polytechnic. Tristan hopes to become a Certified Auto-Service Technician and continue the family business of operating an automotive engine rebuilding shop.

Devann Paredes of Lloydminster, Saskatchewan is entering his first year of studies of a four-year program at Lakeland College-Vermillion in the Department of Trades. Devann’s interest in mechanics began at very young age while growing up in the Philippines and watching his grandfather repair engines with the simplest of tools. Devann hopes to achieve his ultimate goal of becoming a Certified Auto-Service Technician and owning his own shop.

Wyatt Atchison of London, Ontario is entering his first year of a 4-year undergraduate Business and Leadership program at Huron University. Wyatt’s leadership skills became apparent when hewas elected as Student Council President in high school and promoted to Head Lifeguard at his summer job in East Park. Wyatt is beginning his post-secondary education with the ultimate goal of obtaining his bachelor’s degree in Management & Organization Studies, allowing him to contribute to his community and future employment.

Ryan Pettit of Willow Beach, Ontario is entering his second year of a three-year Aviation Technician Program at Canadore College. Growing up around his father’s engine shop, Ryan developed a passion for all things automotive at an early age. That passion eventually led him to aviation when a family friend gave him the opportunity to experience private flights. From that moment, Ryan knew he had found the career he wanted to pursue. Ryan’s ultimate goal is to obtain his Aviation Technician Certificate and begin his career with a large airline. From there, he plans to continue building his experience in the aviation industry while working toward obtaining his pilot’s licence.

Anthony D’Arcy of Granby, Quebec is entering his first year of a three-year Bachelor of Business Administration program at the University of Sherbrooke. Having just successfully completing a three year Business Management Technology program at Cégep de Granby, Anthony hopes to obtain his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and apply the skills to grow and improve the family business.

The E.R.I. Group and the Richard Miller Scholarship Selection Committee recognizes deserving individual members of the E.R.I. family who are motivated to improve their potential for personal fulfillment and make a meaningful contribution to society.
