Automotive Parts Associates celebrates 50 years at AGM

As Automotive Parts Associates celebrates 50 years in business, its recent Annual General Meeting (AGM) was packed, selling out the Henry Hotel in Dearborn, MI for the three-day event. 

Presentations from industry analysts, one-on-one meetings with suppliers and an update on happenings at The Autocare Association from Autocrat MAAP Ted Hughes were just a few highlights from the meeting.

A new board was elected consisting of Jim Holmquist chairman; Brian Cantagallo vice-chair; Merle Bever treasurer, and board members Shane Sleek, Harris Steinberg, Brian Saravelas, Ed Harake, Jim Pepe, and Gary Thibault rounding out the group. 

On the final night, APA celebrated 50 years in business at the Ford Museum where the group gathered for dinner followed by presenting awards to APA’s partnering suppliers, recognizing new APA shareholders and TruStar members. 

Awards were presented to the following supplier partners: Supplier of the Year: Standard Motor Products; Distinguished OE Partner: Mahle; Outstanding Marketing Partner: Dorman; Cornerstone Award: Denso; Linebacker Award: Wheeler Fleet Solutions; New Supplier Award: Liqui Moly; Technology Award: Epicor; Milestone Award: Factory Motor Parts; New Shareholders: Brown and Sons, Texas Auto Parts, Ober Automotive Warehouse, LLC, Northside Imports, and Good Guys Auto Parts. And let us not forget our newest award, the Dan Freeman Excellence Award,presented to Ray Lettini, Foreign Parts Specialties. 

Afterwards, guests took advantage of wandering through the Henry Ford Museum, making a great ending to a great meeting!
