Walk-A-Thon continues to contribute despite pandemic

Despite restrictions that have caused the Group Dorval, Sources and St-Henri Walk-a-thon for Hope & Cope’s Cancer Exercise and Rehabilitation Program to be held virtually for 2020 and 2021, the event continues to make significant financial contributions, with more than $850,000 since its inception.

For the past 14 years, the family-friendly Walk-a-thon organized by the the Quebec-based Bestbuy Distributors shareholders has brought hundreds of people together with one goal in mind: to help cancer patients regain their strength at a most vulnerable time in their lives.

Organizer Alex Trichas said that the continued support has been overwhelming with hundreds contributing “by walking ‘in your bubble’ with a few friends and loved ones. And amazingly you were all very generous, even during these times of pandemic and uncertainty.”

The 2021 edition raised $68,000

“To have been able to raise such an amount again this year is incredible, and we are truly thankful. This will mean so much for the cancer patients of the Wellness Center. You are making a tremendous difference for them.

“Thank you sincerely, and we hope to see you all under more normal setting in September 2022 for our 15th Walkathon.”
