As Canada endures another long winter, riders and distributors alike are already looking ahead to the upcoming motorcycle season.

To help dealers prepare and better serve their customers, Castrol is expanding its premium motorcycle oil lineup with two new full synthetic offerings under the Power1 brand.

Wakefield Canada has introduced Castrol Power1 20W-50 V-Twin and Castrol Power1 10W-40, joining the existing Castrol Power1 10W-50 to deliver one of the most comprehensive sport and street motorcycle oil portfolios in Canada.

With the addition of these two new grades, the Castrol Power1 range now provides coverage for over 90% of motorcycles on Canadian roads, supporting a market of more than 2.2 million bikes nationwide.

Designed for Today’s Motorcycles

The new Power1 20W-50 V-Twin is specifically engineered for high-temperature, air-cooled V-twin engines. It meets the Harley-Davidson HD360 specification and is suitable for other leading V-twin platforms including Ducati and Moto Guzzi, where exceptional thermal stability and engine protection are critical.

The new Power1 10W-40 addresses approximately 40% of the Canadian motorcycle market, covering virtually every Japanese motorcycle make and model. It delivers reliable protection and performance for a wide range of modern sport, adventure, and touring bikes.

The existing Power1 10W-50 remains the recommended OEM grade for Triumph motorcycles and is also a recommended warm-weather grade for select KTM, Husqvarna, and BMW models.

These grades are:

  • Suitable for motorcycles requiring JASO MA-2 and API SN
  • Compatible with wet clutch systems
  • Engineered to exceed the performance requirements of most Japanese motorcycles

Race-Proven Technology

Castrol’s motorcycle lubricants are built on a deep motorsports heritage and cutting-edge engineering. Power1 technology benefits from Castrol’s involvement at the highest levels of motorcycle racing.
Today, Castrol products are used by winning MotoGP teams, including LCR Honda MotoGP and the Aprilia Factory MotoGP team, helping deliver performance under the most extreme racing conditions.

Castrol’s racing pedigree stretches back more than a century — from victories at the Isle of Man TT in 1907 to today’s MotoGP grid.
That heritage continues to shape the development of modern motorcycle lubricants designed for both track performance and everyday riders.

Co-Engineered with Leading Motorcycle Manufacturers

Castrol works closely with several leading motorcycle manufacturers, with products co-engineered and recommended by:

  • Aprilia
  • Triumph
  • Moto Guzzi
  • Vespa / Piaggio

These partnerships ensure Castrol oils meet the specific engineering demands of modern high-performance engines.

Supporting Dealers Ahead of Riding Season

Spring represents a critical window for dealers to stock up and engage customers preparing their bikes for the road.
The expanded Power1 lineup ensures retailers can confidently meet demand across a broad range of motorcycle types and rider needs.
