Canadian aftermarket distribution player UAP Inc. has announced that to mark its 100th anniversary, it is making a $100,000 donation to the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation.

Spread over four years, this partnership celebrates UAP’s 100th anniversary with a meaningful and lasting contribution to the preservation and promotion of Montreal’s historical heritage.

The story of UAP began in 1926 with the opening of its first United Auto Parts (UAP) store on Park Avenue. One hundred years later, the company has become a Canadian leader in the distribution of automotive and heavy-duty vehicle parts and accessories, while remaining deeply connected to its Montreal roots.

To celebrate this important milestone in its history, UAP has chosen to partner with Pointe-à-Callière, Montreal’s archaeology and history complex, an iconic institution that plays an essential role in preserving and sharing the city’s heritage.

Located on the very site where Montreal was founded, the Museum’s mission is to foster an appreciation of Montreal, past and present. Through its exhibitions, activities and initiatives, it highlights the places, events and people that have shaped the city and contributed to its development.

“When you celebrate 100 years of history, you realize just how far you’ve come, but also how important it is to remember where you started. Montreal has been part of the identity of UAP and its NAPA and Traction brands from the very beginning. For our centennial, we wanted to do something that went beyond our own celebrations and would have a lasting impact. Supporting Pointe-à-Callière is our way of thanking Montreal and helping preserve a history that belongs to all of us. It is a tremendous source of pride for our organization,” said Alain Primeau, President of UAP.

This partnership also strengthens an already well-established relationship between UAP and the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation. Alain Primeau has served on the Foundation’s Board of Directors since 2018, reflecting his personal commitment to the Museum’s mission and his strong connection to the Montreal community.

“Montreal’s history is also the story of the businesses and people who have contributed to its growth. By choosing to support our mission as part of its centennial celebrations, UAP is making a generous contribution that will help future generations discover and connect with this history. We will celebrate our 35th anniversary in 2027, and this partnership highlights the importance of preserving our shared heritage, which lies at the heart of our mission,” said Christine Dufresne, Executive Director of Pointe-à-Callière.

A Partnership Taking Flight at the Bal de MTL This four-year collaboration will officially kick off on October 23 at the fourth edition of the Bal de MTL. UAP will serve as the presenting sponsor of this flagship fundraising event for the Pointe-à-Callière Foundation.

Under the theme Montreal in Motion, the evening will bring together more than 500 guests at the Grand Quay of the Port of Montreal and take them on a journey through the city’s history, told through the evolution of transportation. The theme is particularly meaningful for UAP, whose business has helped keep Canadians moving for a century.

Alain Primeau will serve as Honorary Co-Chair of this fourth edition alongside Mélanie Lussier, President and CEO of Aéro Montréal, and Yves Beauchamp, President and CEO of ADM Aéroports de Montréal.
