National Pronto Association has announced key changes at the top of the organization with the departure of Bill Maggs, president and CEO, who has accepted a position with Pronto member Parts Authority. Robert Roos, the organization’s vice president of sales and marketing, has been named president effective immediately, it was announced today by Frank Garcia, chairman of the board, National Pronto Association.
“The Pronto board of directors would like to thank Bill Maggs for over 40 years of service. His leadership and direction have been invaluable to the Pronto membership,” said Garcia. “We wish him well in his future endeavours and look forward to continuing to work with him as part of the Parts Authority team.
“We are also very pleased to announce the appointment of Robert Roos to the position of president. We are fortunate to have had a strong team working with Bill at Pronto headquarters, making this transition much easier. Robert brings a wealth of industry knowledge and a long history of involvement with the entire Pronto family. We are confident his leadership will keep Pronto focused on continued growth and process improvement for the mutual success of our members and vendor partners.”
Roos stated, “I am excited and honoured to have the chance to lead the Pronto organization. Having spent the last twelve years working with and for the Pronto group has prepared me well for this opportunity. Tremendous thanks goes to Bill Maggs for his leadership over the years. I look forward to working with our members and vendors to ensure Pronto’s continued success well into the future.”
An industry veteran, Roos began his automotive career in 1983. He has held a variety of positions with several aftermarket companies, including Downey Automotive, APS/Big A Auto Parts and XL Parts prior to joining National Pronto Association. Roos has been a member of the Automotive Warehouse Distributors Association (AWDA) board of governors and the Pronto board of directors, and he was honoured as Pronto Senior Executive of the Year in 2011. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business management from the University of Tennessee and has served as president of the Houston chapter of the University of Tennessee Alumni Association.
