Groupe Dorval-Sources-St-Henri Auto Parts (Groupe DSH) has announced that its annual Walk a Thon fundraiser attracted $75,000 in donations in 2022, bringing the 15 year total to more than $950,000.

Funds raised by the three-store group, part of the Bestbuy shareholders family, are directed to the Hope & Cope’s unique Cancer Rehabilitation and Exercise Program, part of the Jewish General Hospital’s Segal Cancer Centre in Montreal, Que.

For the past two years, the Walk a Thon has been held virtually, with participants walking in their own communities and sharing their experiences online.

Organizers thanked all those who donated and participated in 2022.

“We could not have achieved this without the support of our suppliers, customers, relatives, employees, and friends. A huge thank you to all.

“The annual Walk a Thon requires a team of volunteers, many of whom are employees of Groupe DSH, friends, and family members of the owners, who tirelessly offer their time annually to ensure its success.

“It doesn’t stop there; we organize a BBQ with decadent deserts and beverages that are offered to the participants. Special thanks to Gus Anagnostaras who oversees the BBQ every year.

“There are countless patients who have benefitted from the exercise program, and we are deeply appreciative of the ongoing support.”

Group DSH emphasizes that all funds raised are directed to Hope & Cope–the events are organized by volunteers and all raffle prizes are donated–not a single penny is withheld for administrative fees.

Group DSH says the date for the 2023 Walk a Thon will be announced in the coming months.
