Lordco cancels 30th Annual Tradeshow amid COVID-19 concerns, pivots to Virtual Tradeshow

British Columbia’s Lordco Auto Parts has cancelled its 30th Annual Tradeshow scheduled for April 1 and 2 at the PNE Coliseum/Agrodome and is rolling out a Virtual Tradeshow for its vendors and customers.

The move comes amid expanding corporate travel restrictions and a directive to prohibit public gatherings of more than 250 people announced by British Columbia’s chief health officer.

The announcement by the Lordco Executive Management Team reads, in part:

Due to the repercussions of the COVID-19 outbreak including: evolving corporate travel restrictions, anticipated bans being placed on large public gatherings in British Columbia and out of an abundance of caution for health and safety, we have made the decision to cancel the 2020 Lordco Trade Show.

This is the first time we have had to cancel a Trade Show in our 46 year history but the health and safety of our vendor community, our customers and our staff is our top priority.

In light of the fluid nature of the COVID-19 outbreak and in anticipation that the cancellation of our show would become inevitable, we have developed a contingency plan to ensure our customer experience remains intact.

The event has become an annual cornerstone of the automotive aftermarket in Canada, attended by more than 10,000 annually. It’s cancellation is another in shifts across the economy to reduce the transmission of the coronavirus in Canada and internationally.
