Ontario’s Ideal Supply Inc. has announced the acquisition of Parry Automotive of Orillia, Ont.

Ideal Supply is a Listowel, Ontario based electric supply distributor and NAPA’s largest independent auto parts distributor in the market with more than 30 locations and a history going back to 1926. It is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Groupe Deschenes Inc., a Montreal based family owned business.
Parry Automotive, located in Orillia, Ont., has been owned and operated by the Van Kessel family since Peter Van Kessel, who had joined the company in 1956 as as a stockroom clerk, completed the purchase of remaining shares in 1977.
Following the succession plan, Parry Automotive was until the latest announcement owned and led by his son Stephen Van Kessel and daughter Susan Peacock, who have carried on in the tradition of their predecessors and continue to grow the company .
