Brake Parts Inc LLC (BPI) announced that Dr. HT Chang, vice president of product development, engineering, R&D and quality, is hosting a technical panel discussion session on regenerative brake technology during the 37th annual SAE International Brake Colloquium & Exhibition taking place in Orlando, Florida, Sept. 22-25, 2019.

The panel session titled, “Additional Testing/Validation Considerations with Re-gen Braking,” will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at 10:20 a.m. EST. In addition to the session co-chair, Carlos Agudelo, Link Engineering Co., panelists from industry experts will include Daniel S. Berletchick, Rayloc Inc.; Saikiran Divakaruni, ZF Friedrichshafen AG; Pietro Durando, ITT Friction Technologies; Ryutaro Misumi, Toyota Motor Corp. and Matthew Robere, General Motors.

This panel will have a broad discussion surrounding the electrification, system differential with regenerative braking, and help the brake system/components suppliers to align testing specs with market needs, and further identify the technical areas to focus on.

Each panelist will share their vision with the industry and provide insight of numerous technical challenges the brake industry needs to focus on.

In the last few years, significant and rapid advancements towards improved safety and electric/automated vehicles are quickly transforming brake development.
