The AIA High Fives for Kids Foundation has announced significant contributions to four charitable organizations totaling $14,000.

The organizations all contribute the the health and well-being of children, youth, and their familiies.

The Children’s Breakfast Club has been a perennial recipient of contributions from the aftermarket foundation. Established more than 30 years ago, the Breakfast Club works with community partners to provide breakfast programs in 27 communities across Southern Ontario.

The Redwood Shelter in Toronto, Ont., has, since 1993, we’ve been there to help women and children live free from domestic violence. The Redwood provides the emotional, practical and social support that families need to get their lives back on track – offering free and confidential services in 170 different languages.

The YWCA of Edmonton provides education, health and wellness programming to thousands of women, girls, and families every year.

Make-A-Wish Northern Alberta has been granting wishes to Canadian children for some 30 years. It’s newly expanded reach sees the organization granting wishes to children suffering serious neurological and genetic conditions.

The funds raised to provide these contributions have come primarily form the Chairman’s Challenge launched by Raymond Proulx, chair of the foundation.

Proulx is asking distributors, suppliers, jobbers, service providers, and the families connected to of AIA member companies to think of the High Fives for Kids Foundation and help with its fundraising so that it can continue to support those worthwhile charities that have requested its help.

The Foundation has seen requests rise, even as it’s traditional fundraising avenues have been squeezed.
