CARPAK Distributing Corp. and Lordco Auto Parts, organizers and presenting sponsors of Stan Kingshott’s West Coast Classic, announced today that they are cancelling the tournament and making plans to hold the event on August 8 in 2022.

COVID-19 cases are rising and golf venue capacity limits remain capped at fifty percent in British Columbia.

Stan Kingshott’s West Coast Classic is a fundraising event, with all proceeds going to local charities.

Its success depends on having many hands to help run the tournament and many player entries. With venue capacity limits in effect, tournament organizers are unable to ensure a successful event.

“We were hopeful that we would be able to postpone the event until September when restrictions may have eased,” explains Brian Kingshott, Tournament Chairman of Stan Kingshott’s West Coast Classic and President of CARPAK Distributing Corp.

“But the growing COVID-19 case numbers have made that option no longer feasible. With the venue capacity limit, we will not have enough helpers or participants to run a successful event this year.”

Though event organizers are disappointed, they are optimistic and making plans to welcome participants onto the green in 2022.

“We invite everyone to join us next August for the biggest tournament yet,” said Kingshott. “Our goal is to beat our 2019 fundraising record and provide tournament participants with an exceptional golfing experience.”
