Word has just reached Jobber Nation of the passing on July 14, 2025 of aftermarket veteran Gus Amodeo.

Amodeo had battled cancer for years before his passing.

His aftermarket career was largely focused on the equipment business and dates back to 1980 with Applied Power Canada, which supplied equipment to the automotive industry, with a particular focus on the collision repair business.

Word has just reached Jobber Nation of the passing on July 14, 2025 of aftermarket veteran Gus Amodeo.

From Applied Power he moved to Hein-Werner as general sales manager, moving to Century/LIncoln Service Equipment where he spent more than eight years.

In 2000 he moved to Valspar, seller of aerosol and other paints and coatings, where he remained for more than 17 years, spending eight of those years as National Sales Manager for the Automotive Channel.

His most recent role brought him backto the equipment segment, with Shinn Fu Company of Canada as National Sales Manager of Professional Products, representing a number of brands he had worked with earlier in his career.

“He had been fighting cancer for quite some time, but even so was well enough a year ago to play in the Shad’s R&R golf tournament,” recalls Jobber Nation Publisher and director of Content Andrew Ross. “I had the pleasure of sharing a golf cart with Gus and we spent the ensuing hours talking all things aftermarket, and a bit about his ongoing treatment. The best way I can describe his attitude was hopeful, determined, and realistic.

“It was clear he wasn’t feeling great, but there he was showing up. For the aftermarket, for his employer, and for the kids benefiting from the funds raised. He was one of the good ones.”

Predeceased by parents Gust and Evelyn of Richvale. Also predeceased (2022) by the love of his life Bev (Baila) Greenberg.

Beloved stepdad to Mark (Maria) and Jody (Mary) and loved Grandpa to Jacob, Jessica, Julia, Emma and Ally Swartz. Loved brother of Evelyn (Garry) Provis, Chris, Anne-Marie Dean (Kit Martin), Laura (Aldo), Gerbasi. Loved brother-in-law (and buddy) of Jeff (late Hinda) Greenberg and Linnie (Martin) Lapidus. Loved uncle of Mike and Mark Provis, Hilary, James and Joshua Dean, Holly, Katie and Megan Gerbasi, Jackie and Barbara Greenberg, Robbie and Darren Glickman.

Heartfelt condolences fo out to family and his many friends in the aftermarket.
