Let me be clear: I do not know what Santa Claus drives when he’s not holding onto a set of reins with eight tiny reindeer on the other end.

However, and it’s a big “however,” I do know that one of his elves drives a VW Tiguan. I know this because Santa was in the passenger seat driving through my neighbourhood right here in uptown Sudbury, Ontario.

Not some dime store “just got this outfit at the outlet” Santa, the real McCoy, or at close facsimile.

Plus, he waved in the unmistakable style that only he and Queen Elizabeth II had in common. Must be the real guy, right?

And if you need a witness, you can ask my dog Macaroni. He saw the whole thing.

But I’m sure in the towns and cities across Canada, there have been many true Santas and helper elves hard at work for quite some time as we approached the holiday season.

For the aftermarket, or the more recent term Auto Care Industry, keeping all those important people – important to their families and their communities – safe is job one.

And, in no small way, the helping part of the jobs across this industry is an important motivator for folks who work in it.

I for one feel incredibly fortunate to work in an industry that values contributing to people’s lives and their communities as highly as this one does.
